The AD-814 delivers powerful edge-on reading performance for item level tagging with the combined feature of reading densely packed arrays of plastic bottles in cases. Avery Dennison’s Sloop technology delivers unique read field properties and provides a durable antenna that can withstand more physical abuse than a traditional dipole antenna through its increased antenna surface area. The inlay possesses unusual read capability in that the best read range is achieved with the inlay’s edge facing the reader (note; for most dipole UHF tags, edge on is the worst orientation for read range performance). In addition, the AD-814 packs strong read ranges, delivers arrayed product reading ability and has a small footprint making it ideal for space constricted applications in item level tracking. Another unique feature of the AD-814 by virtue of the Sloop technology it employs is its ability to gain performance when the edge of the inlay is in close proximity to metal such as with blister packs. By utilizing the EPC compliant 96 bit Impinj Monza 3 integrated circuit, the AD-814 provides strong read ranges which helps to increase system level data capture reliability and allows you to program tags at almost the same distance you can read tags for greater degrees of freedom in your programming operations. The AD-814 is optimized for global operations (860 – 960MHz).
See chart below showing read range performance of the AD-814 rotational plot that characterizes its unusual edge-on reading capability:
